I am not sure if it is at all possible, but it would be interesting to see some of the Otherworld content make its way to the original title in the form of a paid, or even free expansion. KitGuru Says: I was looking forward to Terraria: Otherworld after sinking hundreds of hours into the first one. 505 Games and Pipeworks Games will continue to be a part of development, albeit relegated to console and mobile ports moving forward.ĭiscuss on our Facebook and Twitter pages.
#Re logic terraria 2 update
Not much has been said about the title since, but it is likely that Re-Logic won’t be dropping the Terraria brand overall. Terraria 1.3.5 Update - Out Now on PlayStation 4505 Games, in partnership with creators Re-Logic and developer Pipeworks Studio, are proud to announce that t.

This has resulted in a revised development model with a more in-house focus for future titles.įuture titles could include Terraria 2, which was announced years earlier than its Otherworld spin-off back in 2013. It seems that part of the problem was outsourcing development to other studios such as 505 Games and Pipeworks Games, to which Re-Logic stated “was not the way to go” for a critical title. “Come whatever may, quality is simply not something we are willing to compromise on to make a quick buck,” the developer rightly stated. “Taking the massive amount of work that would be remaining to complete along with the extensive time it would take to get that done, and how that would greatly interfere with the pursuit of other projects on behalf of Re-Logic – it becomes clear that this leaves things in a very undesirable state,” explains the dev blog post.Ĭountering suggestions that the development team should re-imagine with the assets it now has, Re-Logic emphasised that this was not a viable option given the amount of work that would be required. Re-Logic does emphasise that progress has been made within the three years of development, but still, “things were quite a bit further away from the finish line than we had imagined.” Otherworld was supposed to debut before a true sequel, but has unfortunately been cancelled after three years of development, calling into question what is to happen with Terraria 2.įollowing a status review, developer Re-Logic Games revealed that the company was vastly behind on progress, causing the original vision to stagnate. TL DR- Want more content, no updates, would not mind a paid DLC to help fund development of other games since Terraria: Other World was cancelled.Although the original Terraria has received a generous amount of updates since its 2011 release, many eyes had turned to its spin-off, dubbed Terraria: Otherworld. I for one wouldn't mind supporting Re-Logic with a paid DLC. Re-Logic is the indie game studio behind the creation and development of Terraria, a very popular and successful video game that released in May 2011. I'm sure they would get hit by ALOT of flak for a paid DLC, but it only makes sense for a game this old with an active playerbase. I don't know how they would do it but I would like to see more content come to this game I've played so much of. I think that a paid DLC would be good for this game and company. Even though the playerbase is alive and well, not much money will return to the company because of an update. You could attack them immediately or wait until they build some defenses and attack them after that for greater challenge/rewards. They talked about races that could invade your world. Since there are not any games in development by Re-Logic, that I know of, I'd love a new update. ago Different Infinite worlds, skill trees, talent trees.

Now we all love new updates, but they don't get the company much money, as they are most often FREE. Even with new updates, Terraria does not seem to gain many new players. Visuals, world generation, classes, combat mechanics, boss fights, exploration, physics, animations, new dimensions, new interactive gameplay systems like Calamitys enchantments, character creation, things like seasons and so much more that could only be done properly by making a whole new game.

After Terraria: Other World was smothered and incinerated, my hopes of a new Terraria experience is pretty gone.Įveryone knows that Terraria is in a huge chuck of the Steam accounts worldwide and that sales of the game are most likely pretty halted.
